We recently welcomed an Aston Martin into our Sowerby Bridge body shop with damage to the driver side. For our customer, this car is their pride and joy, and they wanted it returned to top condition in time to star in a local car show.
This job came with two clear priorities. First, the finish had to be of the highest standard, as a car on display at a show is looked at closely and from every angle.
Second, the turnaround had to be quick, as the date of the show was fixed. Both had to be met without compromise.
With over 25 years in the automotive industry, our technicians have worked on everything from family cars to luxury vehicles and high performance sports cars.
We know that owners of cars like this expect a flawless result, and we treat every vehicle that comes through our doors with the same level of care and attention to detail, whatever its make or model.
Every repair we carry out starts with an assessment of the damage, followed by a detailed written quote, so the customer knows exactly what needs to be done and why before any work begins. There are never any hidden charges or surprise costs added later.
Before any paint was applied, the Aston Martin was carefully masked inside our spray booth. Clear plastic sheeting covered the windows and much of the upper bodywork, whilst brown masking paper protected the wheels, arches and lower bodywork.
Yellow masking tape was run precisely along every edge, including around the headlight, the side vent, the door handle and the window frame, so that paint only reached the areas being repaired.
With the masking complete, our paint technicians resprayed the door and front wing in the car’s vivid blue. At this stage, the fresh colour has a soft, matt appearance, and the clean lines of the masking tape show exactly where the new paint begins and ends.
On a car destined for a show, colour matching is everything. Even with the correct manufacturer paint code, a car’s existing paint can vary slightly in shade due to age, sunlight and weathering.
We use professional colour matching technology and premium paint systems to achieve an excellent match, even on metallic, pearl and specialist finishes.
Back outside our workshop in the sunshine, the Aston Martin’s blue paintwork has a deep, glossy finish, with the surrounding hedges reflected clearly along the side of the car. Paired with its black multi spoke alloy wheels and black mirror caps, the car looked ready to star at the show.
We understood how much this show meant to our customer, so we worked to a quick turnaround and had the Aston Martin back with them in time for the big day.
Working to a deadline never means cutting corners: every repair is carried out to the same high standard, using industry approved equipment and materials.
We also keep our customers updated throughout, so they always know how their repair is progressing.
Our customer was extremely happy with the results. Their pride and joy was back in top condition and ready to star at the local car show, which was exactly what they had hoped for. Jobs like this are some of the most rewarding we do, as we know just how much these cars mean to their owners.
